Peter and Penny's House
Peter and Penny wanted to replace their inefficient conservatory and make better use of the space they already had. A key aspect of the brief was to also improve the visual and physical connection with the lovely mature garden. The kitchen was opened up and linked with the new garden room, which in turn flows seamlessly to the outside. A new pyramidal rooflight and high performance glazing allowed a strong visual link with the garden and high levels of natural light while still keeping heat loss to a minimum. The extension is clad in locally sourced sweet chestnut that will gradually weather as the building ages.
